Connect TikTok to Shopify

See which TikTok posts produced a paid order, counted into revenue and customers in Shopify. Setup takes one connection on each side, and no TikTok ads are required.

What you get

TikTok's figures beside Shopify's revenue and customers, and campaign link clicks counted per day even while Shopify's own channel report is calling that traffic direct.

Setting it up

  1. Paste your TikTok account. Epoyo reads what is public and works out what you sell, who buys it and what counts as a conversion. No account is needed for this step.
  2. Connect TikTok. Authorise read access to a TikTok account. Epoyo reads followers, views and interactions at the account level, and views, likes, comments, shares and saves on the individual posts it reads, and cannot publish, edit or delete anything.
  3. Connect Shopify. Enter your .myshopify.com shop domain, then approve the connection. Epoyo requests read_orders and read_products and nothing else; card details never leave Shopify.
  4. Give each destination its own code. A single bio link tells you TikTok sent traffic. A coded destination per post is what lets Shopify report a paid order, counted into revenue and customers back against the video that caused it.

The part that catches people out

Shopify will insist most of this traffic is direct. It reads the referrer, TikTok's in-app browser does not send one, and so the store's own channel report has no way to name the source. Two reports will disagree, and the coded one is the one that can point at a video.

Worth knowing about TikTok

TikTok allows one link in the bio, and opens it in an in-app browser that usually strips the referrer. Both facts push you towards coded destinations rather than referrer-based reporting.

Worth knowing about Shopify

Shopify's own analytics has the same referrer blindness as GA4, so its channel report will disagree with a coded one. The coded number is the one that can name a video.

Common questions

Why does Shopify's report disagree with Epoyo's?
Because they are measuring different things. Shopify infers a channel from the referrer, which TikTok does not supply. Epoyo reads the code carried in the link, which survives the in-app browser.
Does this work with TikTok Shop?
TikTok Shop checkouts complete inside TikTok and never reach your Shopify store, so they are outside this chain. This pair measures traffic you send to your own storefront.
